A demographics of New York City immigrants from Africa. Of the ten countries listed in the PEW Research publication of 2017 of black immigrants to the USA, eight of these countries are in Africa. This map reflects New York City communities where African Immigrants settled in New York City Boroughs.

Attractions of Guyana

Guyana

On my last visit to Guyana, I decided that I would do some exploring since, despite having grown up there, I haven’t been to many places. Even though the country’s tourism website has a lot of information, it was still somewhat taxing researching attractions one at a time. I created this map to with the hope that it would provide the average traveler with a tool that would allow for easier means of researching and arranging tours.

Childhood Lead Poisoning in New York City

This interactive map features represent children under 6 year’s old age tested in NYC, 2016 year with blood lead levels of >=5 mcg/dL. My map will allow you to see what the local prevalence of elevated lead tests has been in NYC. It features interactive points and polygons that bring up corresponding details in the sidebar, options for zooming and showing, and a customized base map using Leaflet.

Electric Scooters - Micro-mobility in NYC

Electric Scooters have been a theme of discussion lately in Transportation planning, especially in the last mile and micro-mobility topic. Companies like Bird and Lime have been dropping Electric Scooters in as many Cities in US as they can, and many times creating problems with the local population. The problems caused in those cities are a matter of business operation model. Electric Scooter are considered one of the best options of individual transportation by many specialists. This project propose to show the possibilities for electric scooters for NYC. It consists of a map showing what would a round trip with a Electric scooter in NYC. Using subway stations as an anchor, this map traces a 4 miles radius in the selected station map in the drop-down menu.

NASA Meteorite Landings (1900 - 2013)

The interactive web map displays about a century's worth of meteorite landing data from the NASA Open Data Portal. Data on this map can be filtered by year from a drop-down menu. The interest in making this map was to see what the trend of meteorite landings has been over time and where they tend to land.

A simple web app that allows the user to filter and visualize NYC's street centerline data organized by street suffix. Made using QGIS and Leaflet.
